The Urban Voodoo Machine have been nominated for a Classic Rock Roll Of Honour award. Please click HERE and vote under the BEST NEW BAND category.

Six gongs will be handed to acts chosen by you at London’s Roundhouse on November 10, hosted by Alice Cooper. Cheap Trick and Alter Bridge will play live at the event.

The public nominations for 2010 are best new band, album of the year, band of the year, event of the year, reissue of the year and DVD/film of the year.

Other awards include living legend, classic songwriter, Tommy Vance Inspiration Award, outstanding contribution to rock, classic album, metal guru and VIP Award.

Classic Rock editor-in-chief Scott Rowley says: “The move to the Roundhouse caps off a year that saw us explore exciting new formats with the release of the Slash album, the launch of our High Voltage festival and the continued success of our sister mag, Prog. It all shows our commitment to aiming high and doing things differently.”

UPDATED INFO: UVM invited to play Hard Rock Calling

The Urban Voodoo Machine have been invited to perform at the Hard Rock Calling festival in London‘s Hyde Park, Sunday 27th June.
The main stage features giants such as Paul McCartney; Crosby, Stills & Nash; Elvis Costello. We’re in more appropriate company though on the second stage with Little Steven’s Underground Garage Revue.
UPDATE – on stage 4:00 pm.

On the subject of The Urban Voodoo Machine playing unscheduled London shows – there’s a rumour abound, that they might also do a couple of acoustic numbers at the last ever Gypsy Hotel at Bardens Boudoir this Sat 19th June…see you at the bar!
